Apollo the Oracle was created as a radiant, upbeat blue alien from “Planet Claire,” designed to charm festivalgoers with cosmic jokes, uplifting vibes, and gentle wisdom. Paired with a 12-foot inflatable sculpture, Apollo invites attendees into moments of fun, imagination, and personal reflection.
Challenge:
Apollo needed to be funny without becoming chaotic or overwhelming.
Solution:
Developed a voice style rooted in:
Apollo stays silly while still offering sincerity and heart.
Challenge:
Outdoor audio conditions vary wildly, with music and crowds affecting voice input.
Solution:
Optimized microphone sensitivity, simplified activation prompts (“Say hello to Apollo!”), and adjusted TTS pacing. Apollo’s cadence is lively but clean, ensuring high comprehension.
Challenge:
Festival visitors sometimes test boundaries with inappropriate or off-topic questions.
Solution:
Designed signature redirect lines:
Apollo stays firm yet friendly.
Challenge:
Guests often ask AI characters for schedules and directions.
Solution:
Apollo gently clarifies his role:
“I’m not your festival map - I’m your festival vibe.”
He redirects toward emotional, reflective, or humorous prompts that fit his personality.
Challenge:
The inflatable sculpture had to feel like part of Apollo’s personality, not just decoration.
Solution:
Aligned color palette, conversational tone, and narrative lore so the kiosk “voice” and sculpture feel inseparable - a unified Oracle encounter.
